Since
retiring from full time teaching at Preschool, I have been creating stories,
drawings, paintings & sculptures in my studio here in the "bush" at
Goondiwidi, Queensland, Australia.
Prior to entering a teaching career, I had trained as a commercial illustrator in the 1960's. I also traveled overseas (UK, Europe, USA, Caribbean & Asia) and managed an English Country Pub with my husband.
We returned to Australia in 1985 with our young son and both my husband and I completed University Degrees and began careers in Education. During my teaching career my focus was on Early Childhood Education.
Drawing, painting and writing have always been part of my life while sculpting was nurtured later at University. I regularly exhibit in Art Exhibitions and Art Galleries. My work is in private collections in Australia and Overseas.
My First Book
Molog the Frog is written to engage young children in reading while introducing them to science concepts and engaging them in the conservation of endangered species.
The
inspiration for the tale of "Molog the Frog" was a real frog that lived with
our family when we resided in Hervey Bay. This Australian Green Tree Frog -
an endangered species, lived in our down pipe, coming out each evening
to sit on the verandah where we enjoyed spending time with him.
